POLITICO Op-ed: A New Fix for Long-Term Care from Milbank Memorial Fund and JAHF
POLITICO's The Agenda has published an op-ed article, "A New Fix for Long-Term Care," by Milbank Memorial Fund's President, Christopher Koller, and The John A. Hartford Foundation's President, Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN.
The article discusses Washington state's innovation solution to long-term care financing, through the Long-Term Care Trust Act, and details how that insurance works. They investigate the costs, the pros and cons, and compares the financing with work in other states. As they point out, Washington state "has been building a community-based long-term care system for over a decade, and has been recognized as having the best system of long-term services and supports of any state in the country."
